Possibilities of the development of reading preliteracy for children in the speech therapy class of the kindergarten

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of the possibilities of developing reading literacy for children in a speech therapy class of kindergarten. The aim of the thesis is the analysis and implementation of the possibilities of developing reading preliteracy as well as the analysis of selected book titles that can have a positive influence on the development of preliteracy for children in kindergarten. In the theoretical part are defined terminological concepts related to reading literacy, its strategies and possibilities of development on the basis of the literature. It also defines current Framework Education Programm for Preschool Education. It also introduces the critical thinking programme and the three-phase learning model E-U-R. In the empirical part, are presented case studies of five selected participants of the research investigation who are children with impaired communication skills attending a speech therapy class of a kindergarten in Třinec. Use of Lapbook in Preschool Education

1 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis deals with the use of a lapbook in preschool education. The introduction of the theoretical part is dedicated to the explanation of the term lapbook and squashbook, the history of the lapbook, its use in Czech education and it aims to introduce this didactic aid. In connection with the theoretical preparation of the teacher for the creation of lapbooks, the theory of multiple intelligences and the types of learning styles are presented, which should be taken into account when planning the content of the lapbook. The positive benefits of working with the lapbooks in the areas of reading, information and mathematical preliteracy are presented. Furthermore, the three-phase E - U - R model, which will also be used in the research, is presented in theory. The practical part is devoted to the use of lapbooks in a kindergarten environment. It aims to compile the steps of teacher preparation for creating a lapbook, the creation of model lapbooks and methodical instructions for their creation. Working with a story in preschool children

The aim of the presented bachelor's thesis is to describe the story as an important phenomenon and a means to develop reading preliteracy in preschool children, with a focus on the age group of five to six year olds. The theoretical part is based on the study of the literature and focuses on the definition of reading preliteracy, its importance and its development in kindergarten with regard to the developmental specifics of children aged 5-6 years, which it details. It also presents the functions of literature, characterises literature for children and the story, and introduces genres suitable for this age group (with a more detailed focus on the fairy tale). It looks at how reading preliteracy is anchored in the Framework Preschool Education Programme and how the development of reading preliteracy is conceptualised in contemporary preschool education. It focuses on appropriate methods and forms of story work and the role of stories and books in the educational process, and finally it talks about children's perception of stories and the ability to tell a story. Support for reading pre-literacy in preparatory classes

This diploma thesis focuses on the support of reading preliteracy in preparatory classes. The theoretical part discusses literacy in general, reading literacy as its key domain and literacy as preparation for acquiring knowledge. The support role of family and preschool is defined. Further this thesis discusses preparatory classes, school maturity of pre-school children and postponement of compulsory school attendance as an indicator for admission to preparatory classes. The aim of this research was to find out how teachers support reading literacy in preparatory classes. Data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with teachers of preparatory classes for the school year 2017/2018. The research questions focused on the population of preparatory classes, methods and practices of teachers to support reading literacy, collaboration with other professionals and organizations supporting reading literacy and the tools used in teaching. The experiences of teachers of preparatory classes show that the respondents are interested in reading literacy and are knowledgeable in this issue. Reading corner and his role in reading preliteracy

This thesis is in its theoretical part focusing on reading literacy, reading pre-literacy, projects to promote literacy in the Czech Republic and reading corner in kindergarten.The research is based on qualitative research using a strategy of multiple case studies of purposely chosen kindergartens and methods of observation, interviews and content analysis.The aim of this research was to determine how and for what purpose the reading corner in kindergartens is used. The basic research questions are: How the reading corners help in the development of reading literacy in kindergartens, specific research questions elaborate it as follows: How can reading corner be equipped in kindergarten; how kindergarten schools receive books and magazines; how well do they know today's market offerings; what activities are implemented in reading corner in kindergarten; what led the teacher / director to create a reading corner; how does children feel about the reading corner themselves. The results showed a diverse approach to the phenomenon of kindergarten reading corner. Kindergartens agreed on the positive impact of reading corners on the development of reading pre-literacy of girls and boys, especially in the case of free children's games, as well as in controlled activities.
